When you are looking for a little retail therapy you will find a tempting array of shops in Altrincham. With many high street names and an array of independent retailers you will be sure to find everything you need from your daily requirements to that elusive special purchase.
The Stamford Quarter, one of Altrincham's main shopping centres, is home to anchor department stores Debenhams and House of Fraser, a recently expanded H&M. CeX were welcomed to the centre just before Christmas and the area is soon to be enhanced by the arrival of Pure Gym.
Further along George Street, Grafton Mall includes a mix of national and regional outlets and independent businesses including Altrincham's first comic and pancake cafe, Soda.
The village square atmosphere of Goose Green welcomed Bloomsbury Wedding Cakes in the autumn of 2013 and the lively New York, New York Piano bar is due to open imminently.
The popular specialist shops on the Downs, Ashley Road and Oxford Street areas that are all well worth a visit. The Traders Outlet on The Downs offers a variety of specialist and unique gifts and products from sole traders under one roof. In addition, Altrincham’s Historic Market Quarter offers a great atmosphere and some unique shops and bars on Greenwood Street, Market Street and Shaws Road. The market itself boasts a fishmonger, butcher and cheese stall on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
